  T here was an incidence in the 60s. The Principal of Ibadan Grammar School beat the son of the Commissioner/ Minister of Education in the old Western Nigeria.   The Minister and his son came to our campus with his Police Escort. He and his son went into the Principal’s office. Hmm Minister to Canon Alayande: "Good morning, Sir" Principal: "Good morning …. Se ko si?" Minister: :Omo yin lo ni ena hun, ni moni kinwa bere ni, Sir." Principal Alayande got up from his seat, walked toward the Minister and said, "Se omo e yi loni mo na ohun, iwo na wa gboju gboya wa bere lowo mi wipe kiun explain fun e?" Afi gbosa, ifoti leti Minister.  Alayande: "Even your Dad, who was my classmate, would not dare come to my office to ask me that type of explanation." The stupid boy ran back to the dormitory.  The Police Escort ran down to the car, the Minister did not wait to second ifoti. Then, the Principal sent for the stupid boy, whipped him and asked him to...

 It is antagonistic attitude among teacher to just succumbed to inhuman treatment from government down to the supervisors who lording over us and treating us like a zombies/machines! In a Political Science climate, "sis vis PACEM, para PACEM..."("if you want peace, prepare for peace..."); What are the people authority are doing to protect the teachers, the foundation building and the people who are "in loco parentis" to the monsters in the making! Students murdering teachers, students molesting teachers, parents of our students ridiculing the one who serves as second parenting with formal knowledge; I can go on and on and on but where do you think we got it wrong? Internal or external, government or parents or the pupils themselves? There lots of questions begging for answers; with all our hard-working teaching, we're rewarded with peanuts and the society find it difficult to accept us as a teacher who imparts knowledge to a generation that hates uprig...
